Artists, scientists and discussions oh my...
This week we continued our printing. We used items pressed in dough to make prints. It was so exciting to see our final prints on the paper. Some children swopped and changed colours, then layered their prints. Others repeated their own print across the page. In Science we looked at materials used for beds. We talked about our own beds; made from metal, plastic and wood. In ICT we are looking at digital painting. This week we looked at Matisse and recreate one of his masterpi

A message centre crazy week in Kindi!
As an early years provision we have been lucky to have an Educational thinker and author passionate about childhood Greg Bottrill to work with us. He loved coming into Kindi and looking at how our children learn! He also ran a course for early years practitioners across Liverpool at the end of his visit to Blackmoor. Staff from other schools attended to our setting to hear all his inspirational thoughts. After Greg visiting he gave us many ideas of how to inspire our Kindi ch

What adventures shall we go on today?
This week we have been on lots of adventures in our classrooms. We have been privileged to join the children on their magical adventures as play companions. It has been great fun exploring our imaginary worlds and following the children's interests. In Olive Class the children have been on a space adventure. They explored writing mystery notes in strange alien script which the other children had to find. In Cherry Class the children have been to the moon and to a music fest

This week in Art we have been looking at sketch pencils. We know that H stands for hard and B stands for black. We noticed that our writing pencils have HB on them, these types of pencils sit in the middle of the H and B pencils. The children do this by, sharing kind words, hugs, smiles, hi-5's, and thumbs up! For the first 3 weeks of our theme was 'going on a bike ride'. Our focus was developing our
