Busy Days in Year 1
Well we have had another really busy week in Year 1 with lots of lovely learning. We are getting really good at making 'the right choices' and our gem jars are filling up! We are very close to achieving level 2... which means we get to spend some time in the Learning Pods! We can't wait! Have a lovely weekend. The Year 1 Team
Science is Fun!!!
Year 2 are exploring 'Materials and their Uses' this half term and Pine had a special mission to complete. Our mission was to build a bridge to hold a teddy. We also had to find which material was to strongest and therefore would make the best bridge. We tested paper, paper towel and card. Can you guess what our results were? Yes, the card made the strongest bridge for the teddy.

This week in Year 1 we have been reading Ruby's Worry. Many children in Year 1 were a bit worried before moving to Year 1. They said that they don't feel worried anymore as they know what Year 1 is like. In Ruby's Worry, Ruby discovers that talking about a worry helps to shrink it. This week in Kindi we have introduced the story 'Happy to be me' We have been talking all about ourselves, who we live with, what we like and maybe don't like, what we look like. We have been looking in the mirror at our faces paying attention to our different features, we have really enjoyed choosing the correct colours to draw our faces. The children are settling into Kindi with big smiles and lot’s of new friends.
The children in Kindi are settling in really well! They are beginning to learn the daily routine and make lots of new friends. The children have been into the hall for their dinner and are learning to select and tidy away their trays. All the Kindi staff are super proud of all the children and are looking forwards to introducing more structure to our Kindi day.
