School Committee Pen Portraits
Ms Vicki Abraham (Chair of School Committee)
"I became a school governor at Blackmoor Park infant school in 2020 and have served as Vice-chair of the governing board moving to Chair of the school committee once we joined the Three Saints Academy Trust. My motivation will always be to ensure our children are provided with a safe, happy and effective learning environment. I have one daughter who is still in Primary school and her educational journey has been the catalyst for my governance journey. I am a serving police officer with over 16 years experience which gives me a good understanding of safeguarding for our children and families."
Mr Paul Hughes (Vice Chair)
"I have been a parent governor at Blackmoor Park Infant School for over 3 years. I volunteered to be a governor to support the school and do my best for my children. I have 3 children - Year 5 / Year 3 (Blackmoor Juniors) and a 2-year-old who has started his Blackmoor journey!
My background is in Finance, with over 25 years of experience - I have been lucky enough to work across different organisations and sectors including – Insurance, Non for Profit Tech. This has given me valuable insight into how business works. My current role is Systems Transformation Manager. It’s these skills that will allow me to challenge and support within the school committee."
Mr Edd Naylor (Headteacher)
"In November 2024, I was asked to step in as Co-Headteacher at Blackmoor Park Infants, an opportunity I embraced with great enthusiasm. My decision to join the school was driven by my strong commitment to school improvement and my belief that every child deserves the best possible start to their educational journey. With over 15 years of experience in Early Years and Primary Education, I have a thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the vital role it plays in a child’s development. It is truly rewarding to witness the children at Blackmoor grow, develop, and reach their potential, from their early years right through to Year 2.
Now, as the Substantive Headteacher of Blackmoor Park Infant School, I remain dedicated to ensuring that our school continues to be a place where all children can thrive. I am passionate about creating an inclusive and nurturing environment in which every child, regardless of background or ability, is able to flourish and achieve their full potential."
Mrs Sarah Rattigan (Assistant Headteacher)
"I have been a teacher for 20 years, with the past 14 spent at Blackmoor Park Infants. My previous experience includes working as a Children's Centre Teacher and serving as a Teacher Advisor to the PVI sector. Currently, I am the Assistant Head, Early Years Lead, DDSL and Curriculum Lead for PSHE. Teaching in Early Years is a privilege, as it allows me to see the world through the eyes of our youngest learners. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure we provide high-quality education for our children.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I strive to be approachable and supportive, valuing the voice of all colleagues. I am proud to serve as the staff representative on the school committee, working collaboratively to support the school's vision and development."
Mrs Lisa McCarrick
"My name is Lisa and this is my second year as parent governor. I have known the school since 2015 when my son attended and in 2023 when my daughter began attending. Through my daughter attending Kindi, I became parent Governor. My daughter is very excited and enthusiastic about coming to school, which was my deciding factor in taking the role. I am passionate about Blackmoor Park Infant School and the ongoing development and progress it is making when raising standards for all children. Having been a teacher for 18 years, I have taught across both key stages 1 and 2 with me now currently teaching in Early Years. Having this experience, gives me a skill set and knowledge to support my role as a parent governor. "
Mr David Bromilow
"My son was a former pupil at Blackmoor Park infants’ having attended the school since nursery. Throughout his time in the school, I have seen how hard the staff work to ensure all the children’s educational needs are met. They often go above and beyond what is required, and we have seen our son grow in confidence and resilience. My motivation to become a school governor was to ensure I can contribute to the school’s future and to help guarantee that the same ethos is applied for future generations. I have a varied career background having worked across different sectors including military, construction and for the last 25 years within the National Health Service. The skills I have learnt will help me to play an active role in the school committee."
