Little Leadership Team (LLT) at Blackmoor Park Infant School and Kindergarten

The Little Leadership Team (LLT) is a group of children from across the school who are chosen to represent the views and ideas of their friends. They meet regularly with staff to share suggestions, discuss ways to improve school life, and help make decisions that benefit everyone in the school community.

This opportunity was offered to all children and their families, who were invited to write a short letter at home explaining why they would make a good class representative. Letters were then posted in our special postbox in the school foyer. Each letter was read and the entries took part in a vote to choose their representative, giving children a real experience of democracy in action.

The LLT plays an important role in giving children a voice and helps them develop confidence, communication skills and a sense of responsibility. This initiative is part of our ongoing work on Fundamental British Values, particularly democracy and individual liberty, helping children to understand the importance of making choices, being heard, and working together for the good of the school community.

In addition, the children selected to be part of the Little Leadership Team have been proudly presented with a leadership badge and certificate to acknowledge their important role and the valuable contribution they make to our school.
