Testing materials and music fun with Hazel class.
There’s a hole in my bucket! We tested a variety of materials to see which ones would let the water pass through the holes in our buckets. We made our predictions and surprisingly our investigation showed that the water didn’t fully pass through any of the materials as some of them were absorbent and some were waterproof. We had a lot of fun in our music lesson finding the pulse and learning the words to a new song.

Always busy always learning!
This week in Year 1 we have been amazing. We are learning all about dictionary's and how to use them. We know what a definition is and how to find a word. We are learning the skills needed in design technology to prepare for our project, which we will design, plan and make and share with you soon. In Maths we have been finding the difference between two numbers. We know the difference between 8 and 5 is a take away number sentence. 8-5=3. Hope you all have a lovely weekend Ye

Exploring Algorithms - Class Oak
We created an alogrithms to make sure that we could always share sweets equally between 2,3,4 and even 5 people. We practiced by sharing "sweets" practically with our friends and then we made sure that our codes worked well and didn't need to be debugged.

For the first 3 weeks of this term we have been developing our knowledge and ability on how to hold and maintain balances on the points and patches of our body. We have implemented our 'coach and athlete' role to support ourselves with our skills. We hope you enjoy seeing the various shapes we have bee

Another busy week in Hazel class!
We have had another fun- filled week In our class.
In science we explored a range of materials to see if we could change their shape. We found that we could bend, twist, squash or roll most of them but to change the wax candle we had to snap it.
In preparation for our Design Technology project we worked on our joining techniques by sewing a row of stitches onto Binka fabric.
To end our week we dressed up in our brightly coloured clothes for Children in need day.
