Home Learning in Year One - Week 7

Good morning Year One and welcome back after the half term holiday. We hope that you and your families had a well earned rest.

Today we are now onto week 7 - which should have been delivered to your house.

Inside the pack there are instructions for Maths, English and Topic work. The topic work has been included in the pack as I know some families were struggling to access Purple Mash. We would like all the children who can access Purple Mash to continue to do so. If your child wants to complete both the Topic work sheets and The Purple Mash activities then they can.

English work this week is all based on a lovely story called ' Handa's Surprise' and the activities link with the story and are all explained in the pack. There is a copy of the story also included in the pack. you will also find the story on 'Youtube'.

In Maths, the children are completing work based on 'length' and a ruler has been included in their pack. Detailed instructions for the Maths work is in the pack. There are no videos for this week but there are power point presentations for you to work through with your child which will be emailed to you today.

'2 do's' have been set on Purple Mash that need to be completed by next Monday if possible. There are a lot of tasks on Purple Mash which are linked to Handa's Surprise and a story on Serial Mash. Just complete what you can. The activities include Reading, Science, Art and Geography.

You will receive the Read, Write Inc videos for this week by email today for your child.

Please try and email some examples of your child's work to their class teacher during the week.
