All things Arty!

We have had an amazing week in Year 1. We have been Artists and designers and printmakers! We have really enjoyed finding out about the Artist Melanie Yazzie. She is based in Colorado and is also a Professor in a University. Her work is really interesting and reflects her Navajo heritage.

We have really enjoyed creating prints using lots of different resources - including potatoes, pine cones, shells, duplo, cotton reels, cubes and lots of different objects.

We learned how to make our own printing tile, and we used printing ink on top to create repeating patterns.

Our tee shirts look amazing! On the back we have used fabric pens. The front is printing ink - which may not enjoy spending time in the washing machine!!!! However they are a work of art and would be lovely displayed in a frame!
