Fun filled week ahead in Kindi!

Good Morning to you all,

We hope you had a fantastic weekend with your families. This week in Kindi we are still investigating Dinosaurs and we will be reading the book titled 'Dinosaurs Love Underpants'. This week we are going to be investigating the different types of Dinosaurs and we will exploring the varied diet of each species of Dinosaur. We will be introducing a word of the day to discover whether the Dinosaurs were herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. It would be fantastic if you could investigate this at home too and send in your photos of your fabulous investigations. We will shortly be posting a video of Mrs Robinson reading our story so you can enjoy it too.

This week in Nursery we are also celebrating Chinese New Year. The official date is on Friday 12th February. This year it is the year of the Ox. We are going to be making lanterns, dragons, and a Chinese drums this week. We are also investigating how Chinese New Year is celebrated.

As it is Valentines Day next week we are going to be exploring the artist Kandinsky. We will be creating Valentine's Day inspired Painting. Each child will create their own masterpiece. Here is an example of the activity.

We are also starting our Read Write Inc Phonics this week. Our sound for the week is 'M'. We will shortly be sharing clips from the phonics program for to try at home so make sure you check your emails.

It is also Safer internet Day tomorrow so we will be sharing fantastic videos and stories. It is vital we ensure children are aware of the dangers and what to do if they are in trouble. So watch this space for handy tips and important information!

Every morning in Nursery we have our welcome meeting. We sing our welcome songs and we discuss what day and date it is as well as the weather. We also enjoy singing our Days of the Week song. Here is Mrs Parker welcoming the children in Nursery this morning. We hope you enjoy!
