Children's Mental Health Week!

Hello to you all,

This week is children's mental health week and this year's theme is Express Yourself! Due to the current situation it is particularly important that we focus on ourselves. Currently many children are struggling to understand why they aren't allowed to socialize with friends and family so it is essential that we talk about our feelings. As some children will struggle to express their feelings it is vital that we use some of resources available to support children's emotional welfare, so please take the time to watch and take part in some of the activities.

The link below encourages you to think about the different ways that you can feel.

As it is great to get outdoors you could go on an 'emotions' scavenger hunt in your house or garden? Can you find things that make you feel; happy? excited? worried? sad? angry?

In Nursery we have a daily yoga session, the children really enjoy it and it creates a calming environment. So if you would like to you can try some cosmic yoga to relax your body and mind. There is a link below for a cosmic yoga session and if you enjoy it, there are many more for you to try on YouTube.

As we having to stay at home so much here is a wonderful short animation to try and help our little ones understand this period of social distancing.

Time to come in, Bear: A children's story about social distancing.

Today in Nursery we are going to discuss people who are important to us and the things we love and make us happy. We are going to then draw them in a heart shape and display then in our classroom. It would be lovely if you could do this at home and we can share them on our class blog.

If you need any help or support please contact us via our email kindi3@bpinfant.com

Take care,

Your Kindi Team
