Headteacher's Welcome

A warm welcome to Blackmoor Park Infant School!

Blackmoor Park Infant School is a wonderful school to work in; our talented and hardworking staff are committed to providing the very best.  We are very proud of our school and the way it is continually developing as a creative, child centred environment.  Relationships throughout the school are based on mutual trust and respect; all children are valued and all staff work hard to help every child reach his or her full potential.

This web site will provide you with an insight into our aims, values and the environment we create to support the learning of young children. We are proud of our school and believe that being an infant school enables us to focus very clearly on the needs of children in the early years of education, giving them a successful start.

Our vision is to provide high quality, creative and challenging education within a safe, caring and happy school community, where children develop a lifelong love of learning; a school where the key to our mission statement is simply:

“Learning and Achieving Together”

Our values - our school is a place where;

  • everyone is made to feel welcome

  • we respect and care for ourselves, others and everything around us

  • everyone benefits from, and is committed to, excellence in learning

We pride ourselves on a high level of education alongside a personal and individual environment where children have the ability to develop and thrive.  Children leave our school at the end of Year 2 with results above the national average and with the confidence and skills to face the challenge of moving forward to the junior school.

We value highly the partnership between home and school and encourage all parents to take an active part in the education of their children.  The school cannot work in isolation.  The partnership between school staff, parents, governors and other stakeholders is an essential one.  Together we can set challenges and our partners can help us as ‘how can we do it even better?’

We are proud to be have been rated as outstanding following our last Ofsted inspection in December 2006 and inspectors found us to be a school " in which pupils flourish."

We are a friendly vibrant three form entry infant and nursery school. The children are aged between three and seven and we have eleven classes with thirty children in each class. These are organised into three year groups of ninety in each Year R, Year 1 and Year 2. In Nursery we have both a morning and afternoon class of 30 places with an additional Early Years Integrated full day care provision offering up to a further 24 places.

Please feel free to book an appointment and visit us during the school day. We hope you and your child will be very happy here. We hope you find our web site informative and exciting, a celebration of our work and a glimpse for prospective pupils, parents and visitors of what our school is all about.

Thank you for visiting!
