PE / Sports Premium Funding Statement

This funding is ring-fenced from the Department for Education to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport. It is used for the benefit of children and staff in our school, so that all children develop healthy lifestyles. The planned use of the PE and school sport funding at Blackmoor Park Infant School has been extremely effective in improving and sustaining high quality PE and sports provision for our children. It has ensured that our pupils benefit from an ongoing legacy of enriched sport, exercise and keeping healthy.

Long term Intended Outcomes:

  1. Improving the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision

  2. Increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

  3. Increase participation in intra and inter school competitions, allowing pupils to apply skills they develop during PE lessons in a competitive environment.

  4. Developing PE plans with short and long-term targets that enable all pupils to progress and achieve.

For the year 2020-21 Blackmoor Park Infants received £10,383 and £7,421 and allocated the funding as below:

Sustainability Statement 2020-21

All our PE premium has been deployed into aspects of provision with future sustainability in mind.

  • The range and frequency of intra school competitions has increased in KS1 year on year.

  • Staff confidence to deliver high quality PE lessons has improved.

  • Staff knowledge and understanding with regard to skill acquisition and small game preparation (including EYFS and KS1) has increased.

  • The quality of sport across a range of disciplines has improved.

  • The breadth of provision has improved and will continue to do so.

  • Targeted focus on children with SEND and regular delivery of real PE has improved gross motor co-ordination and readiness for our most vulnerable pupils and positively impacted on progress and learning outcomes.

The use of the money to date has had a significant impact on the quality and sustainability of high quality PE across every phase of our school.
