Below is a list of suggested activities for you and your child to complete while they are unable to attend to school, please do not feel as though you have to complete them all, they are there for you to work through at your own pace.
If you need any help or advice you can email your class email
or if your child has something to share with your child's teacher you can send photos or videos to the team at the same address. Stay safe everyone!
See the attachments for Phonics work and the previous tests for your child to practise.
Also, choose one sound a day from the yellow book of sounds – practise saying the sound.
Write 3 real words and 3 alien words using the sound.
Look for the sound in story books in your house.
Write facts and draw pictures or make a book or make a power point presentation about one wild animal and one domestic animal(pet). Use headings such as home/habitat, bed, food, care etc…
Build a model out of Lego or boxes or anything you may have at home. Then write instructions about what you did using numbers to order your instructions.
Make a fruit salad or cakes or sandwich and then write down what you needed and how you made it using key words – First, Next, Then, After that and Finally.
Write a story about one of the following, you could choose another if you wish, or for an extra challenge include two:
A day at the beach
A snowy day
Practise counting forwards and backwards in steps of one.
Practise counting forwards in steps of 2, 5 and 10.
Write down 5 odd numbers and 5 even numbers and then order them from smallest to largest.
Choose 10 numbers between 1 and 100 and write down one more and one less than each number. (Challenge – Can you write down the number that is 10 more or 10 less than each of our numbers. Use 100 square splat to help you.
Use 100 square splat reveal – Point to squares and your child has to say the number that is on each square you point to – click the square to reveal each number.
Use ICT games – lots of number games on there.
Use Hit the Button – children can practise number bonds to 10, halving, doubling etc…
Use Maths Games on Purple Mash
Draw a picture using different 2d shapes.
Count and sort different coins – match the value of each coin with the correct number of pennies.
Find out 5 facts about the history of the circus and write them down in sentences.
Find out about how, where and why The Guide Dog charity started and write down the information in sentences.
Find out and write down 3 interesting facts about each country in The UK – England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Find out and write down 5 facts about Kenya.
Can the children make their own playdough and then take pictures of the models you make using the playdough.
Look at work by ‘Andy Goldsworthy’ and create own art work by using items found in the natural environment.
Write down the rules you would have in your own school.
Write down facts and draw pictures about Easter. Make a book or a power point presentation about Easter.
Listen to your favourite music – clap the pulse(beat) of each song. Listen to your parent’s favourite music – do you like it or dislike it? Why?
