What an eggciting week it has been! On Monday the whole school found out about sculpture - what a sculpture is and what sculptures we may have already seen around Liverpool. On Tuesday something strange appeared in the school grounds... we found unusual sets of eggs around school and the children had to be detectives and try and solve the mystery - where did they come from? What was inside? What was the slimey green trail? Lots of exciting writing took place to share our thoughts and ideas!
On Wednesday we were lucky enough to host a fantastic piece of artwork from The Williamson Art Gallery. An 8 foot totem pole sat in the middle of our school hall - the children enjoyed using their gallery goggles to study the totem pole, learn all about it and do exciting workshops around it. Year 1 enjoyed working with an artist to create their own eggcellent sculptures and loved painting with eggs.
Thursday and Friday were dedicated to being creative in our own classrooms. Lots of sculpture work took place using a wide range of materials. The children were very excited to take part in this and enjoyed the opportunity to display their sculptures to their families on Friday afternoon.
