What a fantastic year of football these super talented children have enjoyed this current school year, from winning the Liverpool school finals a few months back both Year 1 and 2 teams qualified to compete in the Merseyside finals.
The finals were played in a tournament format against other schools from across the county which were held at the fantastic venue of 'The Liverpool academy' (even if it does pain me to say it).
First up was our super talented Year 2 team with their chance to win the trophy with a brilliant squad made up of; Archie, Luca, Georgie, Liam, Freddie HD, Freddie W and Frankie.
The boys cruised through the group stages and the semi final not losing a single game and only conceding 1 goal, they made playing 6 a side on a very small pitch look easy at times with some lovely goals scored.
Up next the big one, the final. A really entertaining game our boys started quickly with fast passing and moving but just couldn't finish our chances which would eventually tell the story of the game. The game finished 2-2 which meant the game had to be decided by penalty kicks. Unfortunately it didn't go our way, the worst way to lose the final after thoroughly deserving to be crowned champions. Congratulations to our year 2 superstar footballers, they made me a very proud coach!
Below are some pictures of our fabulous experience and even a picture with professional footballer Daniel Atherton!
Now onto our super talented Year 1 team made up of; Craig, Mason, Tom, Will, Joseph, James and Charlie.
These finals were played in a league format with the team that finished top of the league would be the school that are crowned champions.
The boys started very brightly with some lovely long range goals scored, once they grew into the games they started to get their passing going with some great team goals scored!
The team cruised through the league format and won every game and only conceding 1 goal!
They finished top of the league table and were crowned Merseyside school champions!
A huge congratulations to our Year 1 superstar footballers, they made me a very proud coach!
Also I would like to place on record how grateful we are to our fantastic parents, who took time out of their busy days to get the boys to the venue, its very much appreciated.
